The Origins Of The Company and its Sweet Flavors
Just like tobacco itself, Swisher Sweets originated in the USA. Its headquarters are in Jacksonville, Florida.
Although the company officially became Swisher Sweets in the 1950s, it's been around since 1861 when David Swisher, a Newark merchant, purchased a small cigar manufacturing business to settle a debt.
In 1888, David Swisher’s sons purchased the company from him and renamed it 'Swisher & Sons’. Their facility became one of the fastest-growing businesses in the state. Within seven years, the Swisher Brothers were producing 300,000 cigar products per day.
In the 1920s, another wave of the Industrial Revolution took place in the United States. New processes and operations were adopted across many industries, including cigar production.
At the time, Swisher & Son products were produced in Ohio and Florida. The cigar production company grew throughout the Great Depression and hired new workers as their competition left the market.
After World War II, Swisher Sweets Cigars became the largest cigar brand in the world. Swisher bought several small cigar production companies over the next few years. However, the 90s saw great turbulence for the tobacco industry. The company survived and thrived and today, makes a variety of tobacco products, including Swisher Sweets and mini cigarillos. Swisher also produces smokeless non-tobacco alternatives.

In the 20th century, cigar-smoking became very popular. Frank Sinatra and the Beatles were just a few of the many stars who smoked cigars before performing.

The current product lineup is as follows:
Original: A sweet-flavored cigar that was introduced in 1958. It’s the number one selling cigar in America.
Diamond. Also called "Unsweet Swisher," it is a flavor that's very similar to the Original flavor but without the sweetness.
Wild Rush. Combines sweet fruits with watermelon.
Tropical Fusion. An exotic blend of tropical fruits, berries, and herbs.
Blueberry. Classic Swisher with the flavor of plump, juicy blueberries.
Strawberry. Combines the sweetness of strawberries with just the right amount of tartness.
Grape. Swisher has been praised for its grape-flavored cigars.
Sweet. Gives natural leaf cigars a perfect sweetness.
BLK Smooth. Creates a smooth, mellow, creamy smoke.
BLK Cherry. This flavor blends pipe tobacco and the sweet taste of cherries. It is finished with a blacktip for smooth smoke.
It is interesting to note that some cigar makers have attempted to copy Swisher sweets' flavor, but none has ever come close to Swisher's original taste.
